The mission is to create the worlds most efficient VTOL aircraft. By simulation and iterative prototyping, the solution was found: An airplane that transforms it‘s wings into one big rotor for efficient and lightweight take-off and landing.
1. Real live experiments proved a ~40% efficiency-gain against multi-rotor concepts. Looking at jet-theory it’s no surprise: twice the rotor radius –> half the power demand.
2. Every part of the aircraft is used 100% all the time. Therefore weight is saved, which increases payload capacity.
3. Free choice of engine technology: Due to the constant RPM it is possible to use combustion engines for large scale & long endurance applications.
